Some links I found useful on the topic Psychology and (in) Film:
- One of my FAVOURITE sites www.psychmovies.com – with A LOT of useful and systematic information about psychology in films (various articles, list of movies sorted by different psychopathologies, links to books related to psychology in the movies and many more), created by Brooke J. Cannon, Ph.D. a professor at Marywood University.
- I found this an interesting information – a way to obtain – Certificate Program in Treatment & Education Through Cinema.
- A nice site about CinemaTherapy – http://www.cinematherapy.com – list of films sorted by various psychological issues, guidelines for choosing and watching a film, nice cinema therapy movie reviews and articles. The site is created by Birgit Wolz, Ph.D..
- Another page about CinemaTherapy – at the end of the text you can find also some additional links to Cinematherapy Guide which may help you develop skills to be more reflective while watching a certain movie, though nothing too complicated.
- A small nice site called http://filminsight.net – as the young author of the site, Josh Lipovetsky, says: ”you won’t find a single conventional film analysis. Instead, I combine various psychological ideas/concepts, and apply them to the movies that I watch. I believe that every movie contains many stories”. I simply find some of his ideas nice and honest.
- A Russian site also focusing on films with psychological topics - http://www.psychofilm.com
- A short introduction to Film and Psychoanalysis – Method from the cultural festival Apollonia held in Bulgaria in 2010.
- Some information from a Seminar in Psychopathology and the Cinema at Northeastern Illinois University.
- Another site I like a lot – www.psychflix.com – quite good list of films sorted by psychological theme, some interesting articles, written by Roland Atkinson.
- Teach with Movies – lesson plans based on movies and films.
